MOGADISHU– Somalia’s Federal government Planning Minister Mohamud Beenebeene has on Sunday held meeting with the acting Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator of United Nations in Somalia George Konway.
The meeting which took place at the Ministry’s Headquarters in the capital Mogadishu centred on the Ninth National Development Plan (NDP-9), 2020-2024, which focuses on government priorities in its path towards economic growth and poverty reduction.
The two officials also discussed broadly on ways of strengthening cooperation, especially with Aid Architecture, carrying out the Census, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all through effective implementation.
In a statement posted on his Twitter handle, the Minister expressed his delight in meeting with the top official saying they also deliberated measures to address climate change which has precipitated serious ramifications on the people.

Through a tweet, the UN in Somalia asserted that the two sides brought to the fore the stabilisation of the Somali government in different facets.

The United Nations in Somalia has been critical asset to Somalia since the break out the civil war in 1991.
The UN has supported the Horn of Africa Nation in State- building, peace , security, political and economic transformation and humanitarian assistance.
