DOHA– Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and his delegation have on Monday arrived in Doha, Qatar for a three-day official.
Prime Minister Hamza who received invitation from his Qatar counterpart Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdirahman Al-Thaanni is expected to hold series of meetings with high officials of the Qatar government in s bid to strengthen the relationship and cooperation in the mutual interest between the two countries.
The Premier’s delegation includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abshir Omar Jama Huruuse, Minister of Finance Bihi Iman Cige, his Internal Security counterpart Mohamed Ahmed Sheikh Doodishe, Minister of Education Farah Sheikh Abdulqadir, and other officials.
Qatar and Somalia have good diplomatic relations spanning over years which was bolstered during the regime of former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.
The Gulf nation is involved in the state-building process in of the Horn of Africa Nation particularly in the field of infrastructure, security, institutional development and humanitarian assistance.
The visit by PM Barre is expected to further advance the diplomatic relations between the two nations .
