NAIROBI– Two minors identified as Seven-year-old Shamima Osman Abdullahi and five-year-old Abdinasir Osman Abdullahi on Friday tragically perished in a fire that erupted on the 7th floor, consuming their apartment.
The incident was confirmed by area Member of Parliament Yusuf Hassan who sent message of condolences to the family of the minors.
The legislator asked the relevant county authorities to promptly investigate the underlying causes of these recurring fires, review fire safety regulations.
“Eastleigh has unfortunately witnessed a series of fire outbreaks in recent weeks. It is imperative that the relevant county authorities promptly investigate the underlying causes of these recurring fires, review fire safety regulations, assess their preparedness and response capabilities, and take immediate corrective actions to ensure the safety and well-being of residents in areas with high-rise buildings.” Said MP yussuf.

Two months ago, one person was killed and three others wounded following an explosion of a gas that occurred at Ibgaro House near Madina Mall in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
