KISMAYO– At least 11 officers from the Kenya Defencd Forces based in Kismayo town , Jubbaland State have on Thursday completed a two-week training focusing on Basic Military Psychosocial Support.
The officers were equipped with skills on how to combat stress management, how to identify mental problems, basic counseling, and first aid techniques.
ATMIS Sector VI Commander Brig. Luka Kutto said the training would help the officers maintain good mental health during military operations and other activities.

The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia ATMIS has in recent days been involved in providing training to its different contingents of personnel from various peace contributing countries with myriad of skills essential to them in the executing and facilitating their day to day duties.
On Tuesday this week , Fourteen officers drawn from the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) personnel serving with the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) have concluded an intensive training on heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
ATMIS said that the training centred on forklift operations, basic machine maintenance, machine service and safety and risk management.
