BOSAASO-Heavy fighting between PSF army and forces loyal to dismissed PSF commander Mohamed Osman Diyano is ongoing in Bosaaso town of Bari region since last night.

According to local reports, the two warring factions are reported to be using heavy weaponry in the fight as residents in the besieged neighborhood flee from their homes for fear of being caught in the gun clashes.

It is not clear what triggered the clashes however sources say Puntland security forces launched an attack on the Headquarters of PSF and thereafter led to the re-grouping of the PSF army.

There are reports of casualties and destruction of property as result of the offensive but no government official has spoken about the number of casualties or property lost.

Recent talks to end the PSF stalemate and salvage the army from the debacle after the sacking of its commander by President Said Abdullahi Deni flopped in the eleventh hour.
