NAIROBI –Mandera North Member of Parliament aspirant Mohamed Farah Bardad has pledged to advocate for the rights of his constituents in the forthcoming 13th parliament once he assumes office on August 2022.
Bardad, a teacher by profession said he will use his 33 years experience in his teaching career to work for and implement several development projects in Mandera North constituency.
“If I will be elected to the August House, I will ensure to fight for the right of the underprivileged people in the society especially mothers and orphans who have no one to lean on.” said Bardad.
He said that he will use his legislative role in parliament to transform the living standard of the electorates in his constituency by championing for the channelling of more resources stating that the current allocation to Mandera North constituency is paltry amount compared to what the county government of Mandera receives from the National Treasury annually.
“The amount which has been allocated to Mandera North is a tip of the iceberg of the money which Mandera county government is allocated for on yearly basis and will use my role as MP to call for the channelling of more resources into the constituency.” he said .
Bardad also promised to ensure that he will clamped down on the daily harrassment by security officers on Matatu operators and Boda Boda riders who have no insurance; further pledging to roll out mass issuance and acquisition of insurance to drivers and riders.
“Under my reign as an MP for Mandera North I will repress the daily harassment meted on Matatu drivers and Boda Boda riders by Police in my constituency and ensure the disbursement of insurance certificates to drivers and riders.”Bardad said.
Mwalimu Bardad was speaking at a luncheon organized for him by professionals and youth from his constituency in Nairobi county who pledged to stand with him in thick and thin to ensure he ascends to power come 2022 August Polls.

He urged the clan and the electorates to uphold and adhere to the 2017 endorsement agreement where the sitting lawmaker Major Bashir was to run for five years and hand over the mantle to the Mwalimu come 2022 elections saying it is his turn to be supported and voted in.
Bardad thanked the youth for coming out in large numbers and putting trust in his leadership; promising to use the CDF funds to develop the constituency.
The youth who spoke at the event also called on the residents in Mandera county especially Mandera North to elect the long- spanning experienced teacher in the upcoming elections as they said he is best suited to take the constituency to a greater height.
Farah was endorsed by his Jibrael sub-clan as the sole flag bearer for Mandera North in the forthcoming August polls, he was endorsed on 26th February 2022 at ceremony held in Rhamu.
Bardad ran for the seat in 2017 but stepped down in favour of the current MP Major Bashir who is now facing a major hurdle to retain his seat after the declaration of Mwalimu Bardad to again run for the seat.
