Wajir County Senatorial aspirant Hassan Wardere has expressed his reservation about the decision by the Ajuran National Council (ANC) to endorse a different candidate for the senatorial seat throwing a spanner in to his bid of running for the seat in the forthcoming August general elections.
Wardere distanced himself from the process which he described from the onset as predetermined, Judgmental and locked for some candidates.
Speaking exclusively to Frontier Online, he outlined that he has lost confidence in the council which he said he had preliminarily a lot of hope in it and but has instead sidelined a section of the community further stoking division in the community along unnecessary fabric, corruption and malpractices.
“I wish to express my concerns that I am a pained citizen who has lost faith in what was going on as the process seemingly appeared predetermined and judgmental. I initially had a strong belief in ANC but seeing that it had sidelined a section of us, dividing the community along with unnecessary fabric, favoritism, corruption and broad light theft, I wish to distance myself from whatever decision it had come with.” said Wardere.
Hassan poked hole in the criteria used to pick various candidates particularly the Senate position by the ANC saying they were premised on unfairness and that the certificates were prepared in advance and conclusions reached prior to the grand meeting.
He called for a probe and investigation into the yardstick used in coming up with the impulsive and indiscreet verdict by the council today.
“Not only was ANC wrong in picking candidates, but it also showed that the decision could not happen fairly. The certificates were prepared before the event and conclusions were made. This is sad and ought to be looked into.” he said.
He called on the Ajuran National Council ANC to review and reconsider its bogus decision and arrange for a meeting where the candidates will be granted a platform for a fair and transparent nominations.
“Similarly, I express that the ANC should reconsider its decision by granting a platform for fair and transparent nominations.” said Wardere.
The Senatorial hopeful eventually thanked his supporters who manifested high sense of faith and belief in him and exhorted them to remain calm assuring them that he will be in the race come rain come sun shine.
Wardere, a humanitarian expert with over 15 years experience vowed that he will be prepared for whatever that will come through going forward and exuded confidence of clinching the seat come August Polls.
“As such, I would like to thank my supporters who showed faith and belief and to tell them that we are fostering ahead with the unity we had before. I am fully in the race and ready to battle it out with the same dream and reality to make Wajir County a better place. I am ready for whatever is on the way and by the will of Allah and your support, I will make it to the seat. My victory is your victory, to you the people of Wajir County.” he said.
